Just amazing...

We did some serious trails while we were on Mahe and La Digue but this one was the icing on the cake. I was thinking about doing it on our own first but I worried about the walking in the ocean part because of the tide. If you get lost on the way, which is very probable, you will not make it on time to the ocean walk. And doing the tour with Gerard was the best decision we made. Don't do it with anybody else. While we were watching nesting birds, different kinds of crabs and lizards eating a coconut or tasting the cinnamon leaves or freshly dropped coconut and much more other people with a different guide rushed to reach the beach and could not have seen anything from what Gerard was showing us. And it was a lot of fun too! We had a private tour just for the two of us and it was worth every cent. Enjoy!
A special tour to remember

Mindblowing. Absolutely mindblowing. Gerard is by far the best guide we’ve ever had. So knowlegeable, so much respect for nature. You absolutely have to book this trip when you’re on La Digue.

It is quite fysical and the temperature, humidity and sun doesn’t make it more comfortable, but you’re rewarded with stunning views, interesting insights about the ecosystem on La Digue, a delicious fresh and tasty lunch at Anse Marron and Gerard ofcourse with his great sense of humor and positive energy.

Bring sufficient water (2 large bottles per person), try to travel light (my backpack was a bit heavy and too large for crawling under the granite boulders), wear grippy shoes, apply sufficient sunlotion and you will be absolutely fine. Gerard assists the persons who are less confident.

A tour we will remember forever.

Thanks Gerard for this amazing experience.

Best regards,

Justin and Fanny

We had an amazing day with Gerard on the Anse Marron tour. Gerard in an excellent guide who will explain so many things on nature, wildlife, ect... He will also serve you some food (fruits) on the beach.
This was one of our favourite experiences of our whole trip in Seychelles.
We highly recommend this amazing trip with him !
Gerard, the best guide and his beautiful trail

This tour was the reason we decided to spend some time on La Digue in the first place, and it was absolutely worth it! Gerard is probably the best tour guide on the Seychelles, with a deep respect for, and abundant knowledge about, the isles, their history and their flora and fauna. Although the hike can be demanding at times, Gerard will help you every step of the way and make sure that you feel safe. We walked through the jungle, found crabs at the Grande Anse, climbed over the famous rocks at the beaches to find our way, and finally walked around the cliffs to reach Anse Source D‘Argent (without needing to pay the fee since we did not cross the parc). Water shoes and hiking shoes are a must!

Gerard is very attentive and always on the look-out for interesting birds (for example La Veuve, the bird of La Digue) which he will attract with his own calls, spiders, crabs or geckos. He will let you taste from the cinnamon trees and the almonds that you can find on the way. He also prepared an absolutely lovely fruit basket for lunch at the stop at Anse Marron, where you will have time to enjoy the beach and the beauty of the ocean.

We were lucky to be alone with him on the trail, while another big group seemed to always pass by the amazing things he showed us on the way. If you are ever near La Digue you should not pass over this amazing guide and his awesome trail he has in store for you!
Amazing
